Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine may turn into a larger-scale conflict with the participation of major world powers, and any escalation in relations in the international arena must be carefully monitored.
The prospect of supplying Ukraine with modern military equipment and weapons to strengthen its positions focuses on deterring Russian aggression, not on a full-fledged victory for Ukraine. Failure to resolve the situation in Ukraine could threaten a confrontation between NATO and Russia, which would have significant consequences for global security and stability.
The international community faced a delicate balancing act in finding a solution to guarantee Ukraine’s sovereignty while avoiding a direct military confrontation with Russia. However, half-hearted decisions are precisely what authoritarian leaders can perceive as weakness and, as a result, push them to start a world war.
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
