More than 150 people were evacuated from Azovstal, including almost 20 children – they are heading to Zaporizhia. Iryna Vereshchuk announced this at a briefing.
According to her, several hundred people still remain at Azovstal.
“Despite all the troubles, despite everything, I want to say that this is a successful operation. This is only the first stage, but it was successfully completed. We will see people who are here, alive and among us. The first thing we did was to close the sky and give people a chance to get out. That is, people came out. There was a ceasefire. The second thing we did was to break through a corridor that no one could break through yet. Together with the President, the UN and the Red Cross. And the third thing we are doing is continuing the operation, ” said Vereshchuk.
