Russian occupiers captured the Ukrainian humanitarian convoy in the agreed corridor

On March 22, the Russian occupiers violated the agreement, did not let the Ukrainian humanitarian convoy into the agreed corridor, and seized 11 buses with drivers and two SES vehicles with 4 rescuers, announced Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk.

“Today, the occupying forces violated the agreement and did not allow buses to evacuate Mariupol residents from the village of Nikolske and the village of Melekino. Eleven buses and two SES vehicles were seized at a Russian checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Manhush and taken away in an unknown direction. As of 9.15 pm on March 22, we do not know the fate of 11 drivers and 4 representatives of the State Emergency Service,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Iryna Vereshchuk stressed that Ukraine demands from the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations to provide guarantees that the pre-announced representatives in the columns will not be captured in the humanitarian corridors.
