Bodies of tortured civilians found in liberated Trostyanets, Sumy region

Russian terrorists kidnapped and tortured civilians during the occupation of Trostyanets in violation of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons. Following the liberation of the city from the Russian troops on March 30, two bodies with gunshot wounds were found. The dead were civilians whose disappearance had been reported by relatives a few days earlier.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Under the procedural guidance of the Okhtyrka District Prosecutor’s Office, pre-trial investigations are being carried out into violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
