Kyiv, September 16, 2014 – “Ukrainian servicemen keep ceasefire to carry out the Ukrainian President’s peace plan. Opposed, terrorists and Russian militants continue engaging with ATO positions. Throughout the day they attacked the roadblocks and ATO positions near the localities of Nyzhnya Krynka, Hranitne, Mius, Orlivka, Novoselivka. Terrorist units have been recorded advancing towards Lysychansk of Luhansk oblast, Debaltseve and Volnovakha at Donetsk oblast,” stated colonel Lysenko, spokesman of the NSDC information center, at his briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
The colonel also noted that National Guard tank regiments created recently are at their final stage of training.
According to the NSDC, the situation in Donetsk remains critical. Terrorists and Russian soldiers continue firing at Kuybyshevsky and Kyyvsky districts using heavy artillery. Apartment blocks and the infrastructure have been damaged, there are casualties and injuries among the civilians.
According to Andriy Lysenko, in the town of Zuhres in Shakhtarsky district of Donetsk oblast, terrorists and Russian servicemen are accumulating military armored equipment: tanks and APCs, and using mine launchers to attack residential areas within the city under the guise of National Guard. Three civilians were killed in the region in the last 24 hours.
