Georgian politician announced a new political force that promised to advocate for equal opportunities. Ukrainians with no prior experience in state service and with no connections to business are to become its members.
Mikheil Saakashvili is creating a new political force and is plans to participate in the next parliamentary elections. He made respective statement at a press-briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
“According to the principles of our political force, we will not accept to our ranks anyone who has already been a member of parliament before for more than one term, whoever she/he is; anyone who was holding position in the executive power for over two-three years. There will be no direct or hidden representatives of the big businesses on our list. We will support business, but we will not let it get into politics, into the Verkhovna Rada. They need not be there”, he said. “We need people of different ages who love Ukraine, and are ready to fight for it until the end and actually work for the country, but not for the party of for an oligarchic group.”
“To me Ukraine’s victory in the struggle against the aggressor is the key. We will win only when we implement reforms,” stated Saakashvili. He noted that the party will stand for decrease of taxes, simplification of doing business and creation of equal opportunities. “There need to be equal conditions, no one shall be diving the spheres of influence,” he noted.
According to him, the first task of the new force is to “change the actual so-called political elite and early parliamentary elections, in the quickest way possible.” He added that the party is not going to unite into a bloc with any other political force. Mikheil Saakashvili noted that in the nearest days he will head out to the regions to talk to the wider audience.
Mikheil Saakashvili is a former President of Georgia, he has been Head of Ukraine’s Odesa regional state administration since May 2015. On November 9, 2016 he filed a resignation claim.
