Ministry of Defense: Russia-backed militants deliver 47 attacks in a day

Over the last day, Russian proxies committed 47 ceasefire violations, 39 of these were precision attacks. “In ten cases Ukrainian troops were compelled to return fire,” reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman Colonel Dmytro Hutsulyak at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In Luhansk sector, Russian proxies violated the ceasefire seven times. “Militants were the most active in the evening and at night, used small arms, grenade launchers, and IFV mounted weapons,” Colonel Hutsulyak said. Russia-backed militants opened precision fire three times in Luhanske area and twice near Troitske. Hostile attacks were also recorded near Novhorodske and Stanytsia Luhanska.

In Donetsk sector, Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire 40 times. “The enemy used various small arms and grenade launchers. Near Avdiivka militants twice used 82-mm mortars having fired a total of five rounds,” the Ministry of Defense spokesperson said. Russian proxies also violated the ceasefire in Pavlopil, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Shyrokyne, Verkhniotoretske, Hnutove, Kamianka, Maryinka, Pisky, Talakivka, and Shakhta Butovka areas.

Fortunately, Ukrainian troops incurred no casualties over the last day.
