Ministry of Defense: Fifteen ceasefire violations recorded in ATO zone yesterday, four Ukrainian troops wounded

Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire in ATO zone 15 times yesterday. Ukrainian troops returned fire in nine cases. “No Ukrainian serviceman was killed in action, but four troops were wounded,” reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Colonel Andriy Lysenko.

In Luhansk sector, Ukrainian troops recorded seven hostile ceasefire violations. Russia-backed militants used light infantry weapons near Krymske and Donets station and used mounted anti-tank gun near Triokhizbenka. “The enemy conducted four brief attacks at our positions near Novooleksandrivka using small arms and automatic grenade launchers between 15:30 and 18:30. Ukrainian troops returned fire to two of these,” said Col. Lysenko.

In Donetsk sector, militants violated the ceasefire four times. Russia-backed groups engaged Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka and Zaitseve with light weapons. “The enemy attacked Ukrainian positions near Pisky with IFV weapons, hand-held, mounted, and automatic grenade launchers, as well as 82-mm mortars, firing a total of nine rounds,” said Col. Lysenko. Ukrainian troops responded with the fire of various grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and small weapons. Moreover, militants opened fire near Maiorsk.

Four hostile attacks took place in Mariupol sector. Russian proxies used grenade launchers and small arms in Shyrokyne, Starohnativka, and Talakivka. Ukrainian troops returned fire. “The enemy also used IFV weapon systems near Novotroitske. Our troops responded with the fire of  IFV weapons, large-caliber machine guns, and mounted anti-tank grenade launchers,” informed the spokesman.
