Petro Poroshenko: EU will increase financial assistance to Ukraine to double digits

Kyiv, March 5, 2014 – Ukraine is currently actively negotiating with IMF mission and expects further signing of Memorandum for IMF financial funding, claimed Petro Poroshenko, Co-chair of Ukraine-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, at the press briefing in Ukraine Crisis Media Centre.

Additionally, Mr. Poroshenko informed that this is a matter of the upcoming few days for EU to make an important decision about significant increase of financial assistance to Ukraine: “As of today we had the decision about issuing 610 million EUR from EU and I have a feeling that this amount will be increased to double digits”.

As for the further procedure of signing the Association Agreement with EU, Petro Poroshenko noticed: ‘The legal grounds of the signing procedure and authorization with regard to signing the Association Agreement should be finalized in the nearest future, and after this process is finished we will consider that Agreement should be signed immediately.”
