ATO Staff spokesman: Pro-Russian militants decrease the number of attacks

Kyiv, March 24, 2015. The number of armed provocations instigated by pro-Russian militants against the Ukrainian forces has decreased over the night of March 23-24, stated Anatoliy Stelmakh, ATO Staff spokesman, via Skype at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. “However, the confrontation continues at the Donetsk direction. The militants shelled Pisky from the 120mm mortars for over an hour, starting from 9:35 pm, as well as mortared Avdiivka at 10 pm. They were firing at these towns from small arms and grenade launchers through the night,” explained Anatoliy Stelmakh.

The ATO Staff spokesman also noted that the militants conducted a series of attacks near Leninske, Donetsk region, as well as fired from small arms at Shyrokyne, which is near Mariupol, at 3:15 am. Overall, Russian regulars and its proxies have violated ceasefire six times between 8pm and midnight; 2 more cases were recorded from midnight until 5am.
