Andriy Lysenko: JCCC registers “DPR” and “LPR overwhelming ceasefire violations

Kyiv, June 28, 2015. Monitors of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) have registered numerous cases of ceasefire violations committed by pro-Russian militants. Ukrainian and Russian side demonstrated their record books to the OSCE monitors in which it was indicated that “DPR” and “LPR” fighters violate ceasefire most of the time, said Colonel Andriy Lysenko, spokesman of the Administration of the President of Ukraine on ATO related issues, at the press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In the Mariupol sector, militants continued instigating armed provocations in the area of Shyrokyne and conducted one attack from a tank. Militant groups also used 122-mm artillery and 120-mm mortars against the Ukrainian forces stationed near Starohnativka. Isolated provocations occurred near Petrivske and Hranitne block posts.

In the Donetsk sector, fighting went on for the whole day. Militants’ main targets remain Ukrainian military positions the Donetsk airport, namely Pisky, Avdiivka and Opytne. “The enemy does not cease attempts to damage our defense lines in Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, Troyitske and in the outskirts of Horlivka,” noted Col. Lysenko. He told that Russia-backed fighters use a wide range of weapons in the region: from small arms and grenade launchers to 152-mm artillery, 120-mm mortars and anti-aircraft guns.

Areas near Stanytsia Luhanska and Krymske were hotspots of the conflict in the Luhansk sector where militants used large-caliber mortars, anti-aircraft guns and infantry combat vehicles.

Ukrainian servicemen spotted two flights of enemy UAVs yesterday.

Ukrainian Armed Forces did not incur any lethal casualties, 11 servicemen got wounded in action in the last 24 hours.

Ukrainian security services discovered that a resident of Donetsk opened a branch of own firm in Sumy allegedly rendering medical services, however, the scheme was funding the “DPR” militants. It has been eventually blocked by the Ukrainian operatives.

Ukrainian operatives also detained a resident of Chernihiv who was distributing anti-Ukrainian propaganda at the “DPR” order calling to support and finance Russia-backed militant groups.
