No Ukrainian servicemen were killed nor wounded over the last 24 hours. This was stated byCol. Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine spokesperson on ATO related issues, at a press briefing held at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
In Luhansksector, the main hotspot is Novozvanivka. During hours of darkness, around 7-8 p.m., militants fired at the Ukrainian positions with heavy artillery. Shelling from 152-mm artillery cannonsand 82-mm mortars continued to 9.30 p.m. with an hour break. Artillery bombardment was also recorded close to the village of Troitske in Popasna district. “Aturbulent situation was observed in the vicinity ofNovooleksandrivka, Kondrashivka Nova and Lopaskine where the adversary fired from small arms,” added Col. Motuzyanyk. Overall, militants fired 39 artillery rounds and 4 mines inLuhansk sector.
In Donetsk sector, militants widely used 82- and 120-mm mortars near Avdiivka, Verkhnotoretske, Troitske and Luhanske. “Overall,militants fired 167 mortar roundsfrom heavy weapons which is forbidden by the Minsk agreements,” stressed the spokesperson.Close toLuhanske, militants fired from infantry fighting vehicle. Another provocation was recorded in Zaitseve.
In Mariupol sector, provocationsby Russian occupation forces cover the largest territory. Heavy weapons – artillery and mortars – were used mainly in the dark time and more intensely than in other areas. “In particular, the adversary fired at Ukrainian positions near Krasnohorivka, Pavlopol, Taramchuk and Shyrokyneusing IFV. InMaryinka, a local resident was woundedas a result of shelling,”noted Col.Motuzyanyk. Overall, they fired 12 artillery roundsand 137 mines. In addition, militants used small arms and grenade launchersin all these places and near Vodiane and Lebedinske.
