Mostly the militants shell the Mariupol sector, although the situation remains tense Avdiivka and nearby Horlivka, Ukraine suffers no casualties.

Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no casualties yesterday, said spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on ATO related issues Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

Main hostilities in the Luhansk sector took place near Popasna, on the Bakhmut road and north of it. In total, militants violated the ceasefire 17 times, using mostly heavy arms. “Krymske village remains the main flashpoint. Occupants are widely using mortars there, launching about 120 mortar shells in 24 hours,” said Col. Motuzyanyk. Moreover, it was the first time in the last four weeks yesterday that militants used the artillery in the Luhansk sector. Insurgents used 122 mm cannons near Novozvanivka. “Moreover, Russian proxies shelled Ukrainian positions three times in the adjacent Novooleksandrivka. They opened fire from small arms near Syze village,” said the spokesman.

The situation is difficult in Avdiivka and the vicinities of Horlivka in the Donetsk sector. “The adversary is rarely using mortar launchers in the industrial area, making long-lasting attacks and widely using large machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems,” said Col. Motuzyanyk. In total, six attacks took place in the Donetsk sector in the past 24 hours, and half of them involved use of mortar launchers.

The number of militants’ attacks remains the highest in the Mariupol sector, 19 attacks in the last 24 hours. The biggest number of ceasefire violations took place in Pavlopil-Shyrokyne frontline area, where 12 incidents were registered yesterday. Militants are using mortar launchers less – seven attacks along the entire frontline during which 70 mortar shells were launched at Ukrainian positions. “Moreover, two sniping attacks were registered near Pavlopil,” emphasized Col. Motuzyanyk.
