On April 5, the competition for the Award named after Heavenly Hundred’s hero Dmytro Maksymov (Deaflympian who was killed during Euromaidan events). The award will be given to those who help people with disabilities to play sports. This was informed by Volodymyr Bulba, advisor to the Minister of youth and sports of Ukraine, coordinator of the project “Common victory”, Chairman of the NGO “Open opportunities” during a briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. “This award is non-commercial. It is from the heart and soul. It will be given to those who have already started to create favourable conditions for people with disabilities to play sports. By rewarding these people we also point out that the state underfulfils its task,” he noted.

The idea of the award is the realization of Heavenly Hundred’s heroes’ dreams and ideals that did not come true. There will be three nominations: the organization and development of facilities for sports and rehabilitation, donation and sporting events. “The competition will be held from April 5th through April 22nd. Deadline for applications is April 22. The ceremony of awarding the winners will be held not later than May 15,” noted Volodymyr Bondarchuk, Chairman of the NGO “Family of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.” Information about the competition and application forms will be posted on the websites of the NGO “Family of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes” and Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. A cover letter and information about the initiative and its activities should also be attached. “Such competitions popularize real examples of heroism.
