Russian forces capture Selydove and nearby villages in Donetsk region, according to DeepState
Russian forces have captured the city of Selydove in Donetsk region and nearby villages Vyshneve and Zoryane, DeepState, a Ukrainian OSINT project said on Wednesday. Russia has also advanced near Novoukrayinka, in Novodmytrivka and Kurakhivka, the analysts said.
The report gave no other details. In one of its earlier updates DeepState said Russian forces had been seen inside the city council building in Selydove.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on Russia’s claims of control over the city.
Last week, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, an agency of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine said: “The Russians are throwing a lot of forces to Selydove. [They may circulate] videos showing their flags, but the battle for the city is still underway.”
The Office of the Prosecutor General said Sunday it had opened an investigation into Russian forces for the killing of civilians in Selydove and shooting at a civilian car in the frontline city.

A Russian glide bomb strike on a residential building in Kharkiv on Wednesday evening killed three, including two teenage boys, and injured 36 others.
Russia used a FAB-500 aerial bomb fitted with an UMPK glide bomb kit in the attack, Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office said. The strike was launched from Russia’s Belgorod region.
Head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Synehubov said the bomb hit between the third and fourth floors of the building in the city’s Saltivskyi district. A 12-year-old boy died of severe wounds sustained in the attack. Medics performed resuscitation measures for more than half an hour. Two other victims are a 15-year-old boy and a 25-year-old young man. Thirty-six people were wounded, including an 11-year-old boy.
Nearby apartment buildings and at least 20 cars were damaged. Part of the city’s customers lost power after the strike.
The Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office is investigating the case as a violation of laws and customs of war and premeditated murder.
Norway to send spare parts for F-16s, NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine as part of fresh aid package
Norway announced on October 29 a new military aid package worth 500 million euros (USD 544 million) for Ukraine, including weapons and spare parts for F-16 fighter jets and NASAMS air defense systems.
Ealier this week, Norwegian defense minister, Bjørn Arild Gram visited Odesa. He went to a military rehabilitation center, saw frontline fortifications and was briefed on security situation, head of the international cooperation department at Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, Hennadiy Kovalenko said in remarks at the Kyiv Security Forum on Thursday.
Norway said it was ready to invest in Ukraine’s defense industry, Kovalenko added.
Norway is ready to fund the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense and allocate USD 118.8 million for the purchase of weapon systems and spare parts for Ukrainian F-16s, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said. According to earlier reports, Norway will send six F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine during 2024 and 2025.
