Multi-level governance in Ukraine has become increasingly popular in recent years, which is confirmed by the OECD recommendations as well as recommendations of the European Commission as part of the negotiation process. Even though the issue of multilevel governance is primarily a priority within the Fundamental Cluster of the EU accession negotiations regarding the delineation of powers, implementation of multilevel governance is also envisaged in the EU Regulations on regional development and management of EU Structural Funds.
Given the beginning of preparation of annual report of the European Commission on the progress of EU candidate countries (to be published this autumn), Ukrainian Institute for International Politics has analyzed state of play and possibilities for introducing multi-level governance in Ukraine as part of creation of a national management system for regional development.
Goal of the event: to present developments on the possibilities for applying multi-level governance approach within the regional development management system in accordance with EU Regulations.
