About 25 girls and women aged 14 to 24 were systematically raped by the Russian military during the occupation in the house basement in Bucha, Kyiv region. Nine of them are pregnant.
This was stated in a comment of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova to the BBC, writes Suspilne.
“Russian soldiers told them they would rape them to the point where they wouldn’t want sexual contact with any man,” said Denisova.
According to her, the rapists said they did it so “to prevent them from having Ukrainian children.”
Commissioner for Human Rights stated that is impossible at the moment to assess the scale of sexual crimes committed by Russian troops because not everyone is willing to tell what happened to them.
She says Ukraine wants a special tribunal to be set up by the United Nations to try Vladimir Putin personally for allegations of war crimes including rape.
Earlier, Denisova said that in the Kyiv region, in particular in Bucha and Irpin, the facts of the rape of children by the Russian military during the occupation were recorded.
