Kremlin media are very careful when covering protests that started after by #BelarusPresidentialElection, so careful in fact that they barely appeared in the news and only were discussed in political talk shows.

This was done presumably not to inspire Russians to go on the streets themselves, especially since there are protests in Khabarovsk are still going on. However, they still needed to spread conspiracies about “mysterious Western powers” that are organizing protests in order to support Lukashenka’s bid for continued dictatorship.

They did get one thing right though – technologies did not change since the Ukrainian Maidan.

But in reality, the technologies that have not changed are the ones on Russian TV that discredit grassroots protests in neighboring countries to stop their audiences from questioning authoritarian rule of Putin.
