Kremlin media are openly undermining the sovereignty of Belarus and its independence by claiming “Russia and Belarus are essentially one nation”.
This is done to paint possible future military intervention as a “rescue mission” rather than breaking international law yet again and this message is repeated primarily for the benefit of local audience.
