During the day, on May 22, 9 civilians were killed in Donetsk and Luhansk regions as a result of shelling by the Russian occupiers. At least 11 were injured: in Avdiivka, Velyka Novosilka, Lyman, Klynove, Krasnopillya, Novomykhailivka.

Due to intense hostilities and difficult communications, it is impossible to quickly obtain information about the victims in Lysychansk, Severodonetsk and surrounding settlements.
Soldiers of the Joint Forces are courageously deterring enemy attacks, and Russians continue to destroy homes and kill civilians in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
During the day of May 22, Russian troops fired on 49 settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Over the past day, rescuers evacuated 1,092 people from the areas of hostilities in the Donbas.
The enemy, violating all the laws and rules of war, destroys residential areas and infrastructure of peaceful settlements in the Ukrainian East. During the day, 138 high-rise and private buildings and at least 17 other facilities were completely destroyed and damaged, including: school, dormitory of professional lyceum, sanatorium, food company buildings, two farm hangars, agricultural machinery, shop, trade pavilions of the central city market, court premises, gas pipelines, garages, private cars, and rescue equipment.
Units of the State Emergency Service, which are part of the Joint Forces, extinguished two large fires – in the hangars of the Bakhmut nurcery and in the building of the Avdiivka secondary school. Intensive shelling of the enemy hinders the full-fledged work of rescuers, information on casualties and destruction is being clarified.
Pyrotechnicians neutralized several explosive devices in Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk districts.
According to Serhii Haidai, head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, yesterday, May 22, a resident of Lysychansk died when a Russian shell hit her apartment in the evening. The shelling of this residential area was very heavy – four houses were damaged at once. In total, 13 houses were destroyed in the city. Novodruzhesk repeatedly withstood heavy blows, but 28 houses there were also destroyed.
In total, on May 22 in the Luhansk region, the enemy hit more than 70 housing facilities. In addition to the above, there are 13 houses in Zolote, four – in Nyrkove, three – in both Mykolayivka and Katerynivka, two – in Hirske.
In Severodonetsk, the Russians damaged five high-rise buildings and shopping areas of the market. An elderly man was injured and taken to hospital by police in a timely manner.
During the attack on Severodonetsk, the enemy fought in the areas of Purdivka and Oleksandrivka, as well as stormed Toshkivka.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 310 civilians have been killed in shelling and bombing in the Luhansk region.
According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, on May 22, the Russians killed 5 civilians in the Donetsk region: 2 in the Lyman, 1 in Dachne, 1 in Klynove, and 1 in Avdiivka. Another 11 people were injured.
In addition, in Bakhmut, medical care was provided to one person injured in Luhansk region.
It is currently impossible to determine the exact number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha.
On the evening of May 22, the Russians fired artillery at Avdiivka. At least 20 houses and kindergartens were damaged.
In the morning, Russian aircraft struck an air strike on the old part of the city. The consequences of the blow are being established by specialists.
In general, at least three civilians have been injured in the city so far this day.
The Russians are waging a war of annihilation, destroying settlements along the front line from Vugledar to the Lyman, and beating cities in the relative rear, such as Bakhmut and Soledar.
