How Kremlin propaganda tries to manipulate Western audience?

For years, Russian propaganda has continued to spread fake narratives undermining Ukraine’s image in the West: lying that Ukraine is allegedly a “failed state”, does not have any cultural or historical background, its political leadership is weak, etc. The brave resistance of Ukrainians against Russia’s invasion proved quite the opposite.

Therefore, Russian propaganda shifted its focus toward portraying Ukraine as a villain, a terrorist, and an aggressor, incorporating conspiracy about the West waging a war against Russia via Ukraine and even planning an invasion of Russia.

Russian narratives are evolving and continue to be present almost all over the world thanks to the huge funding provided to the disinformation network by the Kremlin. Looking just at the fact that the state funding of Russia Today, a Russian multilingual company focused on the Western audience, has increased in 2022 making RT the leader in terms of state funding among all Russian media illustrates the importance the Kremlin regards its mouthpieces with abroad.

Thus, the measures to counter Russian propaganda in Western societies should be carefully approached as well. How? Learn in the second episode of Ukraine In Flames, the first issue dedicated to this topic can be found here:
