How Russian Propaganda Is Influencing Opinion in India and Indonesia

Russian influence in the countries of the so-called Global South is one of the main pillars of the international dimension of Kremlin propaganda. The aggressive imperial policy of Moscow, which resulted in a war of aggression against Ukraine, very clearly showed how important the information struggle in the international arena is in crises.

Russian influence on the formation of public opinion in India and Indonesia is an excellent example of how propaganda can distort reality and influence political decision-making processes. Moscow spends a lot of money on propaganda in such countries. For this, it uses its classic narratives and adapts and exploits local contexts to increase its effectiveness.

Ukraine needs to find ways to allow it to confront the Russian Federation in this unequal struggle for the attention of the international public. To expand its circle of friends, Ukraine must close the information vacuum through its efforts and thus spread the truth among the countries of South Asia and Africa.
