The sanctions result from the Moscow Patriarchate’s involvement in political activities that align with the Kremlin’s agenda rather than purely religious functions. The Moscow Patriarchate’s support for Russia’s actions in Ukraine and its involvement in spreading pro-Kremlin narratives led to these sanctions.
Russian propaganda is trying to discredit the Ukrainian government through the manipulation of religious issues in Ukraine. This strategy is to expose Ukraine’s attempts to limit Russian influence and protect itself from religious problems in the future.
It is vital for the international community not to fall into the reality created by the Russian propaganda media but to support Ukraine in its struggle for independence.
