Latin America has increasingly become the focus of Russian propaganda efforts in recent years. These efforts aim to undermine the influence of the United States and its allies in Latin America while promoting Russia as a viable alternative partner.
Russian state-sponsored media outlets have been active in the region, disseminating pro-Russian narratives and attempting to shape public opinion. Additionally, Russia has engaged in strategic partnerships with certain Latin American countries, providing economic and military support in exchange for political alignment.
These actions have raised concerns among Western nations about Russia’s growing presence and influence in Latin America, leading to increased scrutiny and diplomatic tensions. By targeting issues such as economic inequality, historical grievances, and perceived imperialism, Russia aims to cultivate a sympathetic audience and advance its geopolitical objectives in the region.
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
