Ukraine’s and Taiwan’s similar fates in resisting authoritarian aggression

Both Taiwan and Ukraine have suffered from expansionism and resisting authoritarian aggression. Before Russia’s large-scale invasion, Taiwan had almost zero visibility inside Ukraine but now, there is solidarity between Taipei and Kyiv, based on similar experiences.

Now, Taiwan is actively supporting Ukraine’s fight for freedom, including support for rebuilding civilian infrastructure. Taiwan’s strong support, such as financial aid to Kyiv and a strict ban on the export of computer chips and chip-making equipment to Russia, only strengthen the bilateral ties between Taipei and Kyiv.

As the dictatorial regimes all over the world unite their efforts, the states that appreciate democracy keep supporting Ukraine, and this will only strengthen our partnership and cooperation.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
