Ukrainian international politics is complex and complex because since gaining independence, Ukraine has had to find a balance in relations between the global West and East.
The policy towards China is marked by Ukraine’s efforts to maintain at least partnership economic relations, but political issues were often overlooked.
China’s international policy is instead an attempt to form a full-fledged sphere of influence around itself, with an extensive list of states that will allow it to advance its positions in the international arena. Therefore, Ukraine needs to influence the potential rapprochement of Russia and China but also not fall into the Chinese sphere of influence so as not to lose contact with the West.
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
