Ukrainian Independence 32 Years Later

Ukraine gained independence, not thanks to but despite numerous attempts to destroy statehood as a national idea. The centuries-old history of Ukraine is marked by enslavement and colonialism: political, economic and cultural.

Today, Ukrainians are experiencing another attempt to destroy themselves as a nation, a state, and a unity. However, the history of Ukraine has proven that the desire for independence is stronger than the desire for a comfortable life, and the national self-awareness of citizens remains at a high level despite any manipulations.

Ukraine’s independence is vital for maintaining regional stability in Eastern Europe. A sovereign Ukraine serves as a shield for the aggressive geopolitical policy of Russia, preventing potential war transition to other European countries and contributing to a balance of power.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.

If you want to support Ukraine against Russian aggression, check the link with recommendations by Ukraine Crisis Media Center –
