Are Western elites pushing Ukraine toward peace?

While it may seem on the surface that international elites consistently insist on peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, a closer examination reveals a more complex reality. While they do occasionally express concerns and call for diplomatic solutions, their actions often speak louder than their words.

Their reluctance to take decisive actions, such as imposing stronger sanctions on Russia or providing more significant military support to Ukraine, does not suggest a lack of genuine commitment to resolving the conflict. Moreover, all actions and statements done before benefitted Ukraine’s resilience.

Often, the public statements of political leaders could be interpreted as the war as a conflict that can be solved more quickly than it seems. As a result, Russia uses this and promotes the idea that Western leaders are trying to “sell” Ukraine in exchange for peace.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
