Russian culture has long ceased to be a culture in the usual sense. Since the time of the Russian Empire, as in all empires, it played the role of a visiting card, and its spread meant the spread of Russian influence. At the same time, to promote its culture, Russia destroyed the cultures of the peoples colonized by it and aggressively planted its patterns.
If someone prominent appeared among the centres of the empire, he immediately turned from a Ukrainian/Belarusian/Armenian/Georgian into a “great Russian poet/artist/musician.”
In this way, a myth was formed about the greatness of Russian culture, which, on the one hand, is not culture and, on the other hand, is not Russian. The same thing is happening, on a different scale, with other people, but the empire always tries to gain leverage on the international stage through culture.
