Reporting war crimes through “Sunflowers” project

During the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the Russian army committed many war crimes, crimes against humanity, and even crimes with direct signs of genocide. International human rights organizations wrote reports about this, and the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin for the deportation of Ukrainian children.

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies spend considerable resources on properly documenting these crimes to transfer them to an international tribunal later. Ukraine could spend these resources on overcoming the consequences of Russian aggression and helping the victims of these crimes.

As a result, the question of optimizing the process of gathering evidence about Kremlin crimes arose, and the solution was to involve the volunteer community in this work through a particular application. This practice should be effective because a similar initiative to help Ukrainian air defence through mobile applications has proven very well.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
