Sunak’s Ukraine visit and the Security Cooperation Agreement’s importance

With the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Great Britain became one of the leading lobbyists of Ukrainian interests on the international stage. Even after two prime minister changes, British support has not decreased; it only continues to increase.

The recent visit of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the signing of the Security Cooperation Agreement marked a new stage in developing relations between Ukraine and the United Kingdom. This agreement should become a beacon in relations with Kyiv for all major international players, particularly for the Group of Seven countries.

Britain was and remains a great friend of Ukraine, which is very important until Ukraine becomes a full member of NATO. Such agreements should become a strong guarantee of Ukrainian and, ultimately, European security against Russian aggression.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
