How can Ukrainians protect the environment during wartime?

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine led not only to numerous human casualties but also to the destruction of Ukrainian natural resources and the environment. One of the biggest natural disasters in history happened precisely because the Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovka HPP.

As a result of this and other military crimes of Russia against the environment, Ukraine faces another challenge of a major war – the preservation of its natural resources. Seeking international support and collaboration with environmental organizations and neighbouring countries can facilitate the implementation of environmental protection measures in Ukraine.

By working together, Ukrainians can safeguard their natural surroundings, which is the foundation for a more sustainable future, even during conflict.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
