How Russia is preparing new generations for wars? Challenges and consequences for Ukraine

The expert discussion titled “The School History Curriculum as a Tool of Ideological Control in Russia: Challenges and Consequences for Ukraine” was dedicated to analyzing how education is used by the Kremlin to shape political loyalty and justify aggressive policies.

Participants discussed the features of pseudo-historical propaganda in temporarily occupied territories, attempts to influence school textbooks in neighboring countries, and how Russia’s war against Ukraine is being waged not only for territory, but also for language, identity, and the very existence of the Ukrainian people.

Special attention was paid to how, through its education system, Russia is laying the groundwork for the future mobilization of society and support for new wars by cultivating ideological commitment among its citizens.
