Ukraine and Sweden have traditionally had some common pages in history. Since Russia’s large-scale invasion, Sweden is also a reliable partner who helps Ukraine to fight back.
Russian aggression also played a role in Sweden’s switching from neutrality to the official request to join NATO. Since now Russia constitutes a threat to the security of the whole of Europe, Sweden knows the aggressor in the face.
Providing Ukraine with both humanitarian and military aid, the country demonstrates solidarity and support in resisting Russia — and Ukraine appreciates such decisiveness.
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
