Militants conducted 15, 15 and eight attacks in Luhansk, Donetsk and Mariupol sectors correspondingly, reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Colonel Andriy Lysenko at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
In Luhansk sector militants attacked ten times in Novooleksandrivka. They opened small arms fire 24/7, each attack continued 10 to 40 minutes. Militants conducted two attacks near Stanytsia Luhanska, using mortars once. Russian proxies also shelled Krymske, Katerynivka and Novozvanivka.
The hostilities were much more intense in Donetsk sector. Militants were attacking Ukrainian troops’ positions in Zaitseve after 21:00 till midnight actively using APC weapons and conducted two provocations near Avdiivka during the day.
At nightfall, militants became more active and increased the duration of attacks using mounted anti-tank grenade launchers. “Heavy weapons were used too. Russian proxies fired six mortar rounds in Avdiivka itself after 21:00. The enemy also used mortars near Donetsk airport, firing 12 rounds at Ukrainian positions in Pisky. This happened at midday,” said col. Lysenko. Militants also attacked Nevelske with grenade launchers late at night and used APCs, grenade launchers, and machine guns in Luhanske after 23:00. The attack continued till midnight.
In Mariupol sector militants were active in Chermalyk, Lebedynske, Vodiane and Shyrokyne. “Russian proxies fired three mortar rounds in Chermalyk and the same number in Vodiane. Moreover, the enemy violated the ceasefire in Maryinka and Bohdanivka but used no heavy weapons there,” said the spokesman.
No Ukrainian serviceman was killed in action yesterday, but three troops were wounded.
