Despite general de-escalation, hostilities continue virtually along the entire frontline. Thirty-two ceasefire violations were recorded yesterday, 5 of them involved heavy weapons, reported Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense ATO spokesman Colonel Andriy Lysenko during a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no losses in combat yesterday, one soldier was wounded. “It happened in Novoselivka Druha in Donetsk sector,” said Col. Lysenko.
Russian proxies conducted 13 attacks in Donetsk sector yesterday, violating the ceasefire at Svitlodarsk area, near Horlivka and in Donetsk airport. They shelled Avdiivka thrice firing 35 artillery rounds. “Most attacks were lengthy, with the briefest one lasting 20 minutes and the longest one exceeding two hours. Nevertheless, the ceasefire fully held in usual flashpoints like Luhanske, Verkhniotoretske, and Donetsk airport,” said Col. Lysenko.
According to the spokesman, Avdiivka remains cut off power supply. Ukrainian repair crews are ready to set out, but militants refuse to provide safety guarantees for repair work. Everyday inhabitants’ needs are satisfied through use of generators. Heat supply in the town is centralized and is provided by thermal power station at the Avdiivka coking plant.
In Luhansk sector, pro-Russian militants conducted two attacks at Stanytsia Luhanska area, and one in Krymske village, using an armored personnel carrier during one of them. “It is the first time in many months that the armistice held in the Popasna district,” emphasized Col. Lysenko.
In Mariupol sector over 80 % of militants’ attacks took place at Pavlopil – Shyrokyne frontline. “Moreover, the enemy violated the ceasefire in Krasnohorivka, Novotroitske and Novohryhorivka. Russia-equipped militants used mortars twice yesterday. The largest number of hostile attacks took place in Vodiane. Most of the attacks happen during nighttime,” said the spokesman. In total, militants conducted 16 attacks in Mariupol sector.
