Russian proxies violated the ceasefire 53 times in eastern Ukraine yesterday, having fired a total of fifty 120-mm and 82-mm mortar rounds. Ukrainian troops returned fire over 20 times. Unfortunately, three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in action over the last day, reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman Colonel Maksym Prauta at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
In Luhansk sector, Russia-backed militants made three precision attacks. The militants delivered an hour-long attack on Ukrainian positions near Svitlodarsk using 120-mm mortars and grenade launchers. After 19:00, Russian proxies fired several 82-mm mortar rounds, employed IFV mounted weapons, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns near Krymske. Between 23:00 and 00:00, the militants fired at Ukrainian positions near Krymske twenty more rounds from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars.
In Donetsk sector, Russian proxies attacked Ukrainian positions 50 times. “The enemy employed 120-mm and 82-mm mortars near Lebedynske and Vodiane, and IFVs near Talakivka and Pisky,” elaborated Colonel Maksym Prauta. Ukrainian positions near Pishchevyk, Opytne, Verkhniotoretske, Pisky, Bohdanivka, Nevelske, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Krasnohorivka, Talakivka, Avdiivka, Kamianka, Maryinka, Shyrokyne, Shakhta Butovka, and Vodiane came under the fire of hostile heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, and small arms. At about 19:00, an enemy sniper was spotted near Avdiivka.
Between 00:00 and 9:00 of April 28, Russia-backed militants committed 10 precision attacks, having fired a total of 40 rounds from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars. In Luhansk sector, the militants employed 120-mm mortars near Luhanske, and used both 120-mm and 82-mm mortars in Novotoshkivske area.
In Donetsk sector, Russian proxies attacked Ukrainian positions six times using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms near Talakivka, Hnutove, Shyrokyne, and Shakhta Butovka. Unfortunately, one Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in action.
