Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire 44 times in eastern Ukraine yesterday. Unfortunately, four Ukrainian troops were wounded in action, reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman Colonel Maksym Prauta at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
In Luhansk sector, the militants committed eight attacks, four of these were recorded in Luhanske area, the rest – near Valuiske, Novohorodske, and Troitske. Russian proxies employed IFV mounted weapons, grenade launchers, and small arms.
In Donetsk sector, Russia-backed militants delivered 36 attacks. “The enemy was the most active near Avdiivka, Verhniotoretske, and Maryinka,” Ministry of Defense spokesman said. Russian proxies fired at Ukrainian positions near Novotroitske and Shakhta Butivka 11 rounds from 120-mm mortars. The militants employed 82-mm mortars near Verkhniotoretske, Lebedynske, Talakivka, and Shakhta Butovka.
“Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka, Verkhniotoretske, Vodiane, Hnutove, Kamianka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Lebedynske, Opytne, Pavlopil, Pisky, Pishchevyk, Talakivka, Taramchuk, Shyrokyne, and Shakhta Butovka came under the fire of hostile small arms, heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, and IFVs,” added Colonel Prauta.
Between 00:00 and 9:00 of May 1, Russian proxies committed two attacks in Luhansk sector, and four in Donetsk sector using grenade launchers and small arms.
