8 mass graves were found in the Kyiv region

As of May 2, 8 mass graves of civilians were found in the settlements of the Kyiv region liberated from Russian troops.

This was reported by Deputy Chief of Police of the Kyiv region Maksym Ocheretianyi.

“The atrocities of the occupiers are outrageous. So far, 8 mass graves have been found in the region. They contained the bodies of about 148 people. Most mass graves are in the Bucha district. Forensic experts are working to establish the circumstances of the death. The last burial was found at the positions of the Russians. These are civilians who show signs of torture – bound hands, feet, and shot legs. They shot them in the head,” he said.

The deputy police chief also stressed that 280 out of 1,220 people found in the Kyiv region are still unidentified. The police have already documented more than three thousand criminal proceedings for war crimes of Russian occupiers.

As of April 21, 1,126 Ukrainians, including 40 children, were killed by the Russian military during their offensive in the Kyiv region.
