Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, 1189 cultural infrastructure facilities have been damaged or destroyed (as of December 25, 2022). Almost a third of them – 446 objects – have been completely destroyed. Among them:
- clubs – 563 (222 destroyed; 341 damaged), most of which are located in Donetsk (24%), Kharkiv (14%) and Kyiv (10%) regions
- libraries – 453 (155 destroyed and 298 damaged), most of them in Donetsk (27%), Kyiv (17%) and Mykolaiv (13%) regions
- museums and galleries – 63 (22 destroyed, 41 damaged), most of them in Donetsk (37%) and Kharkiv (11%) regions
- theaters and philharmonic societies – 18 (9 destroyed, 9 damaged) in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv regions and the city of Kyiv;
- art education institutions – 92 (38 destroyed, 54 damaged), most of which are in Donetsk (30%) and Kharkiv (14%) regions.
The cultural infrastructure suffered the greatest losses and damage in Donetsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kherson regions.
