2% of the territory of Kharkiv region is under occupation

As of December 27, 29 settlements of Kharkiv region are under occupation. This was stated by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.

“Currently, 29 settlements are under occupation, which is less than 2% of the region’s territory. We have a connection with each settlement. Three of them are in the gray zone – active hostilities are taking place on their territory. We respond to requests for evacuation quite promptly. There is no mass evacuation there. Those who want to leave have already done so,” Syniehubov said.

After Russia’s full-scale invasion in Kharkiv region, Russian troops temporarily seized 32% of the region’s territory. After a successful counteroffensive, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to de-occupy almost the entire region. Now about 2% of the total territory of the region is under occupation.
