Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine deprived hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians of homes. Yesterday they had everything, and now, forced to flee their hometowns, they became internally displaced persons.
Western regions of Ukraine, where the situation is relatively safer, sheltered many of them: some need everything, starting from the basic things, and others need work, and social integration. Some of them were robbed by the occupiers at the enemy checkpoints – and now have to start their lives first.
However, nothing is impossible when you are Ukrainian. Local initiatives do everything possible to help fellow citizens: restore their destroyed documents and provide them with housing, work, and psychological support. As this once again proves how invincible and united are citizens are in their desire to help each other.
