Challenges and prospects of art during the war

As Ukrainian culture remains one of the targets of the Russian invasion. On the occupied territories, the enemy does everything possible to wipe out cultural institutions, works of art, and initiatives that promote Ukrainian identity.

On the other side, Russia’s war of annihilation also strengthened the position of Ukrainian artists and encouraged them to be more responsible and conscious in the choice of senses and ideas they spread. Now, Ukrainian culture is a powerful voice promoting our interests all over the world.

Except for cultural diplomacy, Ukrainian art is also a precious instrument of documentation of all the traumatic experiences we have had as a nation. This is not only a story we tell the world – this is also a story we will tell to ourselves and to the next generation of Ukrainians.

UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
