After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, many states that could become targets of attacks by such aggressors came out in solidarity with Ukraine. Taiwan, which constantly anticipates an attack by China, was no exception and immediately took a pro-Ukrainian position in its arena.
Taiwan is a small but affluent technological powerhouse that plays one of the leading roles in the world economy by producing microcircuits. However, the limited military potential of this island state significantly allowed it to concentrate on humanitarian support to Ukraine.
Taiwan’s aid to Ukraine is an essential component of the unity of the democratic bloc against the so-called “axis of evil”, even if it is limited to a humanitarian component.
