Ukrainian troops recorded three ceasefire violations on the part of Russia-backed militants’ in Luhansk sector yesterday, six in Donetsk sector, and seven in Mariupol sector, as reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Colonel Andriy Lysenko at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. Fortunately, Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no casualties yesterday.
In Luhansk sector, Russia-backed militants opened fire in Stanytsia Luhanska and Novyi Aidar districts. Krymske was the main flashpoint yesterday, where militants conducted two concurrent attacks from different directions using mortars.
In Donetsk sector, main hostilities took place in Avdiivka between 18:00 and 23:00. Russia-backed militants used light weapons. Moreover, the enemy violated the ceasefire using armor in Maiorsk and Novoselivka Druha. Ukrainian troops returned fire in almost all cases.
In Mariupol sector, militants violated the ceasefire in Pavlopil-Shyrokyne frontline.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, a room at the camp of militants’ so-called “2nd brigade” caught on fire due to fire safety violation. This resulted in the detonation of explosives stored in unequipped place. “The enemy traditionally blamed it on a made-up attack of our troops,” emphasized Col. Lysenko.
Col. Lysenko also informed that 10 trucks carrying almost 190 tons of food proceeded through Novotroitske checkpoint to enter the uncontrolled territory. The aid was sent by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
