The European Council adopted a regulation allowing for temporary trade liberalization to certain Ukrainian products. This means that for one year import duties on all Ukrainian exports to the EU will not be due. This will support Ukraine’s economy during the war.

The European Council agrees on further increase of support of Ukraine. The fourth tranche will add €500 million to the resources already mobilized for Ukraine, bringing the total amount to €2 billion.

During 3 months of full-scale war in Ukraine, the Russian army destroyed and damaged 30 facilities in Donetsk region, which were reconstructed at the expense of the European Investment Bank. Half of these buildings were located in Mariupol. The bank has financed 117 projects, inc. schools, kindergartens, and hospitals. 

For 7 years, the bank has allocated 3.5 billion hryvnias for 117 projects in 34 settlements of the region. Most of them were schools, kindergartens, and hospitals.

Due to the constant Russian shelling of the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region, Artemsil, the largest salt producer in Europe, has shut down. Salt was exported to Hungary, Poland, Georgia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, and Romania.
