14:21 Volodymyr Zelensky survives three assassination attempts in days

President Zelensky has survived at least three assassination attempts in the past week, The Times has learnt.

Two different outfits have been sent to kill the Ukrainian president — mercenaries of the Kremlin-backed Wagner group and Chechen special forces. Both have been thwarted by anti-war elements within Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).

Wagner mercenaries in Kyiv have sustained losses during their attempts and are said to have been alarmed by how accurately the Ukrainians had anticipated their moves. A source close to the group said it was “eerie” how well briefed Zelensky’s security team appeared to be.

13.40 Invaders in captured Ukrainian cities create humanitarian crisis to send their “humanitarian convoys” – Zelenskyy

The invaders are creating a humanitarian crisis in the occupied cities of Ukraine, blocking Ukraine’s “green corridors” and thus forcing people to leave to the territory of Russia. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with representatives of the Western media.

“Humanitarian cargoes for food, drinking water, medicines, insulin, there are especially many appeals from retirees – they are constantly sent on. Entrances for our humanitarian cargoes in the occupied towns have been blocked,” the Head of State said.

According to the President, the invaders are deliberately blocking the “green corridors” so that their humanitarian goods can enter the city from the other side.

They also do not allow Kharkiv residents to pass through “green corridors” to other regions of Ukraine, but instead create conditions and corridors for our citizens to leave to the territory of Russia, said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“They say: ‘Here’s another green corridor’. Go to Russia. Come to Russia, we will give you food, water, no one will kill you there,” he said.

The President stressed that Ukraine will never ban or hinder the departure of citizens to Russia who decide to do so for rescue or other reasons. However, he stressed, Ukrainians do not want to go to Russia.

“I can’t force people to go to Russia. I can’t drive them with sticks. Many of them say: “We will not go there,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.

The Head of State also noted that difficult living conditions are being created in the Russian-occupied settlements, which were unable to repel the attack in conditions when the invader significantly outnumbered them.

“Somewhere in some towns, they cut off electricity, take food from stores and then distribute stolen goods in the square to the people with the words: “There you go. We brought you the humanitarian convoy”. Cynicism,” the President summed up.

13.34 Russians seize Europe’s largest nuclear plant after attack, three Ukrainian troops killed

The attack on the southeastern city of Energodar and its Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant unfolded as the invasion entered its second week. Three Ukrainian troops were killed in the blast, according to the Ukrainian state nuclear company.
On 4 March the IAEA stated that a projectile had hit a building within the site of the Zaporozhe nuclear plant. The SNRIU said a resulting fire at the site had not affected “essential” equipment and that plant personnel were taking mitigatory actions. The SNRIU said there was no reported change in radiation levels at the plant and the IAEA confirmed that the six reactors were not affected and that there had been no release of radioactive material. The IAEA also confirmed that the radiation monitoring systems at the plant remained fully functional.

According to the IAEA, just one of the six reactors (unit 4) at the Zaporozhe nuclear plant is currently producing electricity. It is operating at about 60% of its total capacity. The statuses of unit 1 (maintenance outage) and units 5 and 6 (held in reserve, operating in low power mode) are unchanged following the events on 4 March. Units 2 and 3 have undergone a controlled shutdown.

13.08 Operational information at 12.00 on 04.03.2022 regarding the Russian invasion

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The ninth day of the Ukrainian people heroic confrontation with the Russian military invasion is going on.

The second echelons and most of the operational reserves of the Russian Armed Forces were put into operation.

In Slobozhanshchyna, units 20A of the enemy continue to carry out attempts to continue the offensive on the Joint Forces in the Novoaydar and Severodonetsk directions.

In the Donetsk operational direction the enemy is trying to keep the encirclement around the city of Mariupol with the help of six BTGs. To minimize the negative effect of the losses in the Donetsk region, Russian curators began to bring Russian Armed Forces servicemen to the Ilovaisk station.

The main goal of the enemy remains the encirclement of Kyiv and the weakening of resistance in the blocked settlements. In the course of this task, groups of the RF Armed Forces exhausted most of the operational reserves and began to transfer additional forces and resources from the Southern and Eastern military districts.

In the Black Sea the Black Sea Fleet was withdrawn from naval bases with the task of striking the surface forces of the Navy forces, but more often civilian ships and their crews become the victims of Russian pirates.

Having an intention to take over the Black Sea coast, the enemy continues to prepare for the landing of marines in the region Zatoka – Chornomorsk. 40 km east from Chornomorsk there are two large landing ships of the occupiers.

Up to 80 representatives of the Russian media and a large group of “demonstrators” were set up in the occupied cities of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to organize public gatherings of “local residents”.

They will probably be sent to Kherson in the near future to organize fake rallies with the participation of propaganda media, to support the change of Ukrainian government on the ground and to legalize the occupation.

the use of airborne troops to ensure the construction of bridges over water obstacles has increased;

the Russian occupiers pay considerable attention to intensifying measures of psychological influence on the population and troops;

There have been changes in the tactics of Russian criminals:

failing to fulfil the task of military “blitzkrieg”, the Russian Federation is turning to openly terrorist methods of conducting hostilities on the territory of Ukraine;

special units are used as assault units in the city suburbs;

in the near future, we should expect a comprehensive and large-scale spread of fake news by the enemy, which will be carried out with the involvement of the full range of modern media.

We urge Ukrainians to be vigilant and careful, to believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and to use information from official and verified sources.

The struggle is going on !!! The victory will be ours !!!

Glory to Ukraine!!!

11:40 Fake demonstrations in Kherson may be staged by Russian occupiers

Russians are preparing to perform fake mass demonstrations in Kherson, Ukraine. It is needed for creating a propaganda story for Russian media, State Special Communications Service (SSCS) of Ukraine warns.

“The Russian occupiers are looking for new ways to misinform Ukrainians and justify their aggressive actions, at least in front of their own people”.

According to the Security Service, about 60-80 Crimean people have already settled in the Frigate Hotel to attend the staged meeting welcoming Russian forces.

As expected, during the day they will go on a provocative action in the central square under the guise of local residents with Russian flags and “gratitude” to the Russian “liberators”.

There is also information that the occupiers seized a warehouse with water police clothes. Therefore, disguised Russian servicemen may come to the rally, who will also “thank” the invaders in the form of Ukrainian police.

SSCS warns: such actions have nothing to do with the real mood of Ukrainian citizens in Kherson and other citizens! This is a part of the information war as fakes and misinformation.

23:07 A mass rally is being brought to Kherson to create a picture of “congratulations” to the occupiers

Russian media spread rumors that Kherson residents want to annex the region to Russia, Vholos reports.

Russian occupiers  are bringing “their” people into the city through the Crimea and want to make a video, as if Kherson city residents are begging to join Russia.

“Several Russian buses have been brought to Kherson to depict happy Kherson residents who greet Russians with flowers tomorrow,” posted Vadym Denysenko, Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Thus, locals ask not to be led on fake news from Moscow, because the people of Kherson do not want to go to the occupying country.

19:08 Putin says invasion is going to plan – as he praises Russian soldiers as ‘real heroes’

Russia’s Vladimir Putin is speaking live now, where he is praising his soldiers as “real heroes”.

He announces a posthumous award to a fallen Russian soldier who he says “blew himself up” with a grenade to avoid being captured.

Mr Putin says Ukrainians and Russians are “one people” but that Ukrainians are “threatened and brainwashed”.

He also continues his bizarre claims that Russia is fighting “neo-Nazis” and that civilians are being used as “human shields”.

Contrary to what Ukraine has said, he says Russian forces have provided humanitarian corridors for civilians to flee and that Ukrainian “nationalists” are blocking them.

Meanwhile, he says the “special military operation” – as Russia has been calling it – is going to plan.

“All objectives that were set are being resolved or achieved successfully,” he says.

This is despite Western intelligence suggesting the invasion is behind Russia’s schedule.

Humanitarian corridors are needed—food, medicine, ambulances, evacuation of children. We are waiting for active help from international organizations, including the OSCE. Enough words!” he wrote.

08:14 Today, on March 3, the second round of negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian sides will take place in Belarus in Bialowieza Forest. First of all, delegations plan to discuss a ceasefire.

Positions of Russia for the second round are:

🔻Crimea is a part of Russia

🔻Recognition of “L/ DNR” within the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions

🔻Demilitarization, “parameters to be discussed”

🔻Denazification

The position of the aggressor looks extremely odd, given the number of killed occupiers and burned Russian equipment.

08:04 The German Bundeswehr (The Armed Forces of Germany) considers supplying Ukraine with additional weapons from its reserves.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces has sent a very long list to NATO, from medical supplies to ammunition to vehicles,” said Bundeswehr Inspector General Eberhard Zorn.

“Let’s see what else we can provide,” he added. Zorn stressed the importance of Ukraine’s military support. “All the Western partners are supplying weapons, equipment and ammunition. It’s a lot together. If at least half of the anti-aircraft weapons reach the target, it could change the game,” he mentioned.

According to the Inspector General, Germany could also deploy additional forces to NATO’s eastern flank, deploying approximately 150 to 200 additional marines.

07:28 The occupiers fired missiles at Sumy, causing 5 victims of civilians.

On the morning of March 3, Russian troops launched a missile strike on Sumy. This was announced by the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi.

06:58 Operational information as of 06.00 March 03, 2022 about Russian invasion of Ukraine:

The eighth day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion continues.

The occupying forces, failing in almost all areas in which they were advancing, resorted to tactics of night shelling of the residential areas in large cities.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine go on steadfastly defending the borders, counterattacking, and blocking the occupiers’ forces in various directions.

In the Volyn direction, the enemy continued to perform demonstrational actions along the state border.

In the Polissya direction, the enemy was seeking to carry out offensive operations in the area of the settlements of Kozarovychi, Vyshhorod, Fastiv, and Obukhiv. The Armed Forces noted the further deployment of Russian field logistics camps in the Borodyanka, Katyuzhanka and Gavronshchyna districts.

In the northern direction, the Russian invaders, without success in the Ukrainian cities of Chernihiv, Nizhyn and Sumy, Lebedyn and Okhtyrka, trying to avoid clashes with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, attempted to reach the northern outskirts of Kyiv.

Enemy units and subdivisions were concentrated in the areas of the settlements of Baryshevka, Nova Basan, and Lyubech. Part of the forces to the battalion tactical group of the Northern Fleet of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which had lost combat capability, was regrouping and trying to attack in the direction of Brovary and Kyiv.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy was conducting an offensive operation in the areas of Zolochiv, Kharkiv, and Balakliya, trying to keep on the offensive in the direction of Lozova, and catastrophically in need of replenishment of lost equipment and personnel.

In the Donetsk direction, the occupiers, with the support of artillery, continued their offensive operations in the areas of the settlements of Novy Aidar, Volnovakha and Mariupol. The enemy did not achieve the main goal of capturing Mariupol and reaching the administrative border of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In the Tavriya direction, the enemy did not abandon attempts to conduct warfare. After regrouping and introducing a part of operational reserves, they concentrated the main efforts in the direction of Mykolaiv – Voznesensk.

In the Black Sea Operational Zone, naval groups of the Black Sea Fleet continued to fire on civilian ships and capture sailors.

For the first time, Russian war criminals faced mass deaths of their soldiers and casualties. During the evening briefing, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published information about the losses of the Russian occupation forces in Ukraine: 498 dead and 1,597 wounded. These numbers are much diminished than the real ones reported by the Ukrainian side.

Part of the enemy forces persisted to operate in the areas of settlements Energodar, Vasylivka, Tokmak, Novopetrivka. After regrouping and introducing part of the operational reserves from the 205th separate motorized infantry brigade of the 49th General Army of the Russian Armed Forces, Russian troops carry on the offensive to reach the outskirts of Zaporizhia and Mariupol.

To ensure further landing of tactical airborne troops from the 10th special brigade of the Russian Armed Forces in the area of the settlement of Balovnoe, the invader landed an away team, which was neutralized.

In the waters of the Black Sea, there was a movement of the landing detachment of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation consisting of four large landing ships accompanied by three missile boats in the direction of Odesa.

Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities are suffering from enemy missile strikes. Social networks and well-known information resources are beginning to comment in real-time on the consequences of the impression and the accuracy of enemy missiles.

And most importantly, we appeal to bloggers, experts and ordinary members of the Internet community: your operational information may be of interest to Russian gunners, who may further adjust the next shot of the enemy! Be careful when disseminating information about shelling in real-time.

The enemy is demoralized and continues to suffer losses! Let’s win together!!!

Glory to Ukraine!!!

00:50 President Zelenskyy: Key theses

  • We are a nation that broke the enemy’s plans in a week. Plans that have been built for years. Meanly. Calculated. With hatred for our country, for our people – for any people who have two things – freedom and heart. But we stopped them. We beat them.. with anything that shoots.
  • But Ukrainians are even beating the enemy without weapons.I sincerely admire the heroic civilians of Konotop, Bashtanka, Enerhodar, Melitopol, other cities and villages of Ukraine, who do not let the occupiers in, blocking everything for them: blocking the road, people come out in front of enemy vehicles. It is extremely dangerous, but how courageous!
  • (Russian army) These are not warriors of the superpower, these are confused children who were used. Take them home.
  • The occupiers will receive only one thing from the Ukrainians – rebuff, fierce rebuff. One that they will forever remember that we don’t give away what is ours. They will remember what the Patriotic War is. For Ukrainians it is the Patriotic War.
  • Our army is doing everything to break the enemy completely. Almost 9,000 Russians were killed in one week
  • In Mykolaiv direction, occupiers have to take away their KIAs with tens of helicopters. 19, 20 years old – what did they see in life, except the invasion of another’s land? But most of them remain everywhere. Get home with your whole army! Tell your command that you don’t want to die, you want to live. The war must be stopped and peace restored as soon as possible.
  • Brilliant result at the UN General Assembly – 141 countries supported a resolution calling on Russia to withdraw from Ukraine immediately. Those who voted for Russia – only 4 – North Korea, Eritrea, Syria, Belarus. These are its friends, and can’t be others – for a state that can not live in peace.
  • Held a meeting today with the heads of cities and regions of Ukraine. On the ground they are working hard to organize a “green corridor” to take out civilians and to bring medicine. Volnovakha, cities of Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv regions and in the south of Ukraine. It is very difficult, we are opposed by terror. But I am sure that the terror will lose thanks to our heroes.
  • Today I signed the Decree on conferring the title of Hero of Ukraine for 15 of our defenders. All 40 million are like these fifteen heroes! Glory to Ukraine!
