21.50 Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov: key points fromhis speech at the telemarathon, as informs Center on Countering Disinformation

  • Putin’s inner circle is convinced that he is insane
  • Troops of Belarus transferred to maximum alert
  • Horlivka is a Ukrainian city. We take ours.
  • Everything is done according to the plan that is in our structures. If the enemy thinks that we will only defend ourselves, they are wrong.
  • The occupiers do not understand where they are and are disoriented, frightened and without fuel. They just want to get home.
  • Our people will come out and defend our country.
  • Our President will not betray us and our people will not betray us
  • We are working on closing the sky over Ukraine. If we don’t, our children will be vulnerable. This is now a top priority.

20:56 Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

Ukraine welcomes the adoption by 141 votes of the UN General Assembly resolution “Aggression against Ukraine”.

The document condemns the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which is a violation of paragraph 4 of Article 2 of the UN Charter.

The UN General Assembly urges the Russian Federation to immediately cease the use of force against Ukraine and to refrain from any further threat or use of force against any UN member state, as well as to immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw all its military forces from Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

The resolution reaffirms its commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and territorial waters.

The document condemns violations of international humanitarian law and calls for unimpeded access to humanitarian aid for those in need in Ukraine.

Belarus’s involvement in illegal use of force against Ukraine is strongly condemned and the country is called upon to abide by its international obligations.

The document also calls for an immediate peaceful solution to the armed conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine through political dialogue, negotiations, mediation and other peaceful means.

The document was the result of work of the UN General Assembly in an emergency, which in fact took over the functions of the UN Security Council, primarily due to Russia’s violation of the UN Charter, its basic norms and principles.

The resolution has become an important part of the international toolkit for bringing Russia to international responsibility for its crimes against the Ukrainian people.

Ukraine is grateful to the international community for supporting the UN General Assembly resolution with an unprecedented number of votes.

20.38 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls on the Russian Federation to immediately cease its hostilities in Kharkiv and Sumy so that we can arrange the evacuation of the civilian population, including foreign students, to safer Ukrainian cities.

There are students from India, Pakistan, China and other countries who cannot leave because of the indiscriminate shelling and barbaric missile strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on residential areas and civilian infrastructure.

The Government of Ukraine stands ready to assist foreign students to relocate from Kharkiv and Sumy should Russia commit to a ceasefire. Attempting to arrange evacuations through cities that are being subjected to Russian bombing and missile strikes is extremely dangerous.

We urgently call on the governments of India, Pakistan, China and other countries whose students have become hostages of the Russian armed aggression in Kharkiv and Sumy, to demand from Moscow that it allows the opening of a humanitarian corridor to other Ukrainian cities.

The Ukrainian government is committed to providing foreign students with all necessary assistance to enable them to return safely to their home countries.

20:21 CinC AF of Ukraine had a telephone conversation with the Commander of the U.S. European Command and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Todd Walters, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Millie.

“I have informed the partners about the course of the defense operation to repel the open armed aggression of the Russian Federation. It was a pleasure to hear and I would like to recite the words of the generals to the entire Ukrainian people, that our military service members, our President and our nation are the pride of the whole world today.

I am grateful for the support and look forward to further effective assistance from the partners to the State Defense Forces!

20:16 Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine informs international representatives, diplomatic missions and consulates about possible provocations in the city of Mariupol using the symbols of the National Guard of Ukraine regiment.

“We officially announce that currently, during the active phase of hostilities, this unit (the National Guard of Ukraine) performs tasks to defend the city together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is not involved in any way to accompany any diplomatic delegations, missions, consulates or international missions.

19:55 State Emergency Service: Today rescuers of Bucha district of Kyiv region together with volunteers evacuated more than two hundred residents of Borodyanka. People were trapped under the rubble of buildings for more than two days, in basements and cellars.

19:05 Russian Federation admitted that they have losses in the war against Ukraine, but 10 times less than it actually is, Ukrainian Pravda reports. Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that 498 Russian soldiers were killed and 1,597 were wounded. At the same time, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense states that from February 24 to March 2, the enemy lost 5,840 personnel

16:51 Ukrlandfarming PLC: Due to the actions of the Russian occupiers, Kherson region is under the threat of ecological catastrophe

One of the largest and most modern enterprises in Europe for the production of chicken eggs, poultry farm “Chornobaivska” near Kherson, was left without the ability to feed poultry and export finished products. This will lead to the extinction of the bird and the impossibility of its disposal, as well as the disposal of stocks of eggs.

Due to the constant brutal shelling by the occupiers, the civilian population suffers, and logistical ways to ensure the livelihood of settlements and industrial facilities are destroyed.

3 million chickens actually die of starvation due to the inability to supply feed for their feeding. They cannot be disposed of, just as it is impossible to dispose of finished products due to hostilities by the aggressor.

In addition, the Bohodukhiv poultry farm and the Okhoche poultry farm in Kharkiv region, which are also part of the Avangard agricultural holding (Ukrlandfarming group of companies), found themselves in a similar situation. In addition, the largest incubator in Europe in Makariv, Kyiv region, is currently without electricity.

In addition to the environmental danger, the shutdown of enterprises may lead to a shortage of eggs in Ukraine. Our group of companies provided chicken eggs to 30% of the Ukrainian market. Now we can talk about the actual loss of 15% of egg production in the country.

At the same time, Avangard continues to support the country’s defense. In coordination with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Avangard donates 500,000 eggs free of charge to the country’s defense. The group of companies also provides fuel and lubricants and necessary equipment, including trucks, to our defenders. We are grateful to our courageous and dedicated soldiers! We will definitely win!

15:05 Interfax Ukraine quoting Financial Times: Buyers are boycotting oil from Russia, although it is offered at a historic discount

Large buyers are boycotting Russian oil because of the situation around Ukraine, which has already led to a jump in the price of Brent above $ 113 per barrel at trading on Wednesday.

According to the consulting company Energy Aspects, it is difficult to find buyers for almost 70% of Russian oil supplied for export.

Sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union do not currently restrict energy exports from Russia, but ordinary buyers are actually imposing sanctions on themselves, preferring to look for alternative sources of supply, Financial Times writes.

15:02 Adviser to the head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak wrote on Twitter that on March 4, both chambers of the Russian parliament will convene an emergency meeting.

On the agenda, as I understand it, is a preventive imposition of martial law in Russia. With a total ban on all rallies, disconnection from any communication with the outside world, large-scale food and financial restrictions. The evacuation of those who can afford it is now beginning across the country… “,

14:55 Interfax Ukraine quoting UNHCR
Nearly 836,000 people fled Ukraine to neighboring countries since Russia started an all-out war, news reports quote UNHCR. Nearly 454,000 people had fled to Poland. The highest tally (more than 100,000 Ukrainians) was recorded on Monday.

14:37 Ukrainska Pravda quoting Ukraine’s State Emergency Service

More than 2,000 civilians were killed since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.

14:29 Ukraine’s Ombudsman Liudmyla Denisova:  The situation in Ukraine remains tense. As of 1 p.m. on March 2, 2022, the Russian occupier continued to use heavy weapons and exterminate the civilian population.

So far, 21 children have been killed and 55 injured in the analysis of information from various sources since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

As a result of the shelling, the infrastructure of the cities of Kyiv, Irpin, Kharkiv, Mariupol, Zhytomyr, Kherson and the settlement of Vasylivka in Zaporizhia region was destroyed.

Thus, a maternity hospital in Zhytomyr was damaged during a missile strike by the occupiers.

At the same time, Russian troops continue to shell civilians in the Zaporozhzhia region. Yesterday, at 9:00 am, the Russian occupation forces fired on the center of the village of Vasylivka, Zaporizhia region. The shells landed in the yard of a local school.

Kharkiv and Kherson continue to come under heavy fire from the occupiers.

Tonight one child was killed and 6 children were injured in an air strike in Zhytomyr. They were rescued from the basements of dilapidated houses.

Through their actions, the armed forces of the Russian Federation continue to cynically violate the fundamental rights of children – the right to life and health, guaranteed to every child in the world by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Some of these deaths could have been avoided if a no-fly zone was established over Ukraine. I call on the international community and international human rights organizations to support the initiative to close the Ukrainian skies from enemy fighters.

Meanwhile, two triplets were born in a maternity hospital under shelling in Chernihiv. As long as such angels are born in Ukraine, we are invincible!

14:28 Ukrainska Pravda citing anonymous source in Ukraine’s intelligence

Ukraine’s runaway president Viktor Yanukovych is in Minsk as part of the Kremlin’s special operation, said Ukrainska Pravda quoting an anonymous source in Ukraine’s intelligence.

In one of the scenarios, the Kremlin would reinstate him as the Ukrainian president. The Kremlin might be planning an information operation, the source said.

13:35 EU bars seven Russian banks from Swift – Council of the EU

The Council of the European Union introduced further sanctions on Russia.

The Council decided to exclude some Russian banks from the SWIFT system including Bank Otkritie, Novikombank, Promsvyazbank, Rossiya Bank, Sovcombank, VNESHECONOMBANK (VEB), and VTB BANK.

The Council’s decision prohibits to invest, participate or otherwise contribute to future projects co-financed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

The Council also prohibited to sell, supply, transfer or export euro denominated banknotes to Russia or to any natural or legal person, entity or body in Russia, including the government and the Central Bank of Russia, or for use in Russia.

13:46 Dalia Grybauskaitė, former President of Lithuania called on NATO to step into the war fighting alongside Ukraine. “If we do not stop Putin in Ukraine, we will still have to fight a war, but in our countries,” she said in a statement released on March 2. Full text.

“It is beginning to look like it. Sanctions will not stop putin whatever they may be. They are necessary, but without any exceptions such as those we see in SWIFT cut-offs or the energy sector and the banks that serve it…

Only a war that has already been launched can stop another war. There is no need to pretend and try to appease our conscience by supplying Ukraine with nothing but arms, and too late at that. The people of Ukraine are fighting the war for us and the children of Ukraine are shielding us from putin’s madness.

Repeating the mantra that NATO cannot help Ukraine already sounds pathetic and shows the cowardice of the West.

Putin sees it too. Although it is learning fast, the West still does not understand that there is a European war going on in Ukraine. Either you participate in it and fight the aggressor or become an accomplice to war crimes by just standing and watching it Ukraine and its people being destroyed. Yes, an accomplice.

If we do not stop putin in Ukraine, we will still have to fight a war, but in our countries.

Ukraine is asking for real help, while we are watching residential areas blown down on our TV screens and keep saying that we ‘strongly support Ukraine’.

I am ashamed to hear NATO leaders and officials muttering that they ‘cannot get involved in a conflict’. But we did it in Syria, Libya, Africa, Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan, didn’t we?

Today, Ukraine is fighting for the survival of its nation and for the peace of Europe. Are we going to just continue watching an independent state being destroyed?

Slava Ukraini! Glory be to her heroes, and so far only to her heroes, because there are no others on the horizon.”

11:38 Mayor of Kherson Ihor Kolykhaev asks journalists to help prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in the city.

“To the attention of all media – Kherson, regional, all-Ukrainian, global! All journalists who know me, who love Kherson, root for its fate, I ask you to use the strength of fourth power and help us get a “green corridor” for the removal of the wounded and the dead, the transport of medicines and food to the city. 09:53 Head of Mykolaiv regional state administration Vitaliy Kim:

Russian airborne troops landed near Balivnyi. There are four helicopters. Curfew took effect immediately. Civilians were ordered out of the streets. Ongoing fighting near Kalynivka, Russian troops suppressed. Some retreated toward Bashtanka. No hostile troops entered Mykolayiv.

Aircraft from Sevastopol nearing the area. Air raid sirens on.

9.40 General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:  The Russian Navy is a pirate of the 21st century.

For the safety of civil navigation, the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine closed navigation in the north-western part of the Black Sea. At the same time, the Russian Black Sea Fleet continues the tactics of Russian ground forces trying to hide behind civilian lives.

Thus, as of March 2, 2022, Russian ships require the civilian ship HELT to enter the dangerous zone of the Black Sea so that the occupiers can cover themselves with a civilian ship as a human shield, otherwise russian ships will open fire on the ship HELT. This is nothing but 21st century piracy.

It will be recalled that during the full-scale invasion on February 24, the Russian fleet had already fired on 2 civilian ships and captured 2 ships of the Russian occupiers (including the Sapphire search and rescue ship on a humanitarian mission).

01:08 General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Operational information as of 24.00 on 01.03.2022 regarding the Russian invasion

The Republic of Belarus, as a satellite of the Russian Federation, provides assistance in the deployment of troops and weapons of the enemy on its territory. In the future, it is likely to be able to support the Russian invaders in the Russian-Ukrainian war and help achieve the goals of the occupiers.

Thus, from February 24, 2022, missile strikes on military and civilian facilities have been systematically launched from the territory of Belarus. Today it is noted that the Belarusian troops are in combat readiness and are in areas of concentration as close as possible to the state border of Ukraine. During the current day, according to intelligence, significant activity of aircraft was recorded. In addition, the movement of convoys of vehicles with food and ammunition in the area of settlements Baranovichi, Lyakhovichi and Pinsk.

According to available data, the Russian occupiers are preparing to launch a large-scale information and psychological operation in the near future. Its goal is to break the resistance of the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian army with the help of lies. Using tactics of total disinformation and intimidation of the civilian population, the enemy will try to sow panic and chaos.

Due to the fact that the enemy fails to achieve its goals, due to the significant resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the resistance of patriotic civilians, he moved to the destruction of information infrastructure and critical government facilities. Thus, the occupying forces, as they move deeper into the territory of Ukraine, destroy the relay towers of cellular communication. On March 1, 2022, a rocket strike was launched on the TV tower of Kyiv.

The enemy continues to cynically disregard the norms of international humanitarian law during hostilities.

Groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are defending certain borders and inflicting a devastating defeat on the enemy in all directions.

During the fierce fighting in the Chornobyl direction, the Chief of Staff of the 36th general troops army of the Eastern military district was wounded, and the commander of 11 separate airborne assault brigades of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Armed Forces was killed in the Siversky Operational District.

Evil will be punished!

We believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Beat the occupier!

Glory to Ukraine!
