Educators who agree to teach subjects are promised a monetary reward. Also, the occupiers continue to try to distribute so-called “humanitarian aid” to local residents. At the same time, they appropriate Ukrainian humanitarian aid coming from the city of Zaporizhzhia.
  • In the temporarily occupied Shchastia in the Luhansk region, all attempts by the Russians to restore the thermal power plant, which suffered significant damage as a result of hostilities, were in vain, because qualified specialists left the village.
  • In Stanytsia Luhanska, Russian invaders are conducting propaganda activities. In particular, employees of the occupation administration work with low-income families registered with social services and distribute so-called “humanitarian aid”.

The operational update regarding the Russian invasion on 12.00 on April 1, 2022.

The thirty-seventh day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion continues.

The Russian Federation continues to conduct full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. The Russian enemy continues to launch a systematic missile, bomb, and airstrikes on critical infrastructure, government buildings, and residential areas of Ukrainian cities.

  • The Russian occupying forces are regrouping and are likely to focus on an offensive operation in the Eastern Operational Zone.
  • There is a partial withdrawal of units of the Russian occupying forces from the Polissya and Siversky directions. At the same time, the enemy is preparing to move additional units (reserves) of the Eastern Military District to conduct hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
  • In the Volyn direction, units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are taking measures to strengthen the protection of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.
  • The Russian enemy did not carry out offensive operations in the Polissya direction. The main efforts of the Russian occupiers are aimed at defending the previously occupied borders, regrouping and withdrawing troops to the territory of the Republic of Belarus to restore combat capability. To ensure the withdrawal of its units, the Russian enemy mines the terrain and infrastructure and uses artillery.
  • Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine restored control over the settlements of Demydiv, Dymer, Lytvynivka, Gavrylivka, Kozarovychi, Zhovtneve, Hlybivka, Yasnohorodka, Talakun, Sukoluchchya, Lypivka, Gavronshchyna, Makovyshche, Mykolaivka, Khmilna.
  • In the northern direction, the Russian enemy continues to blockade the city of Chernihiv. At the same time, there is a movement of troops of the Central Military District to areas located at a short distance from the state border of Ukraine.
  • After the departure of the enemy, the Armed Forces of Ukraine took control of the settlements of Rudnya, Shevchenkove, Bobryk, Stara Basan, Nova Basan, Makiyivka, Pohreby, Bazhanivka, Volodymyrivka, Shnyakivka, Salne, Sofiyivka, Gavrylivka.

  • It is likely that the Russian enemy will strengthen the grouping of occupation troops in the Izium direction at the expense of separate units of the 1st Tank Army and 20th Combined Arms Army.
  • In the Donetsk direction, the Russian enemy continues to carry out fire and assault operations in some areas. Continues to strike airstrikes on settlements.

The situation at Chornobyl NPP on April 1st, 2022

We officially notify you that on March 31, at approx. 8:00 p.m., the Russian occupiers left the Chornobyl NPP site. The access routes to the industrial site have been taken under the control of the ChNPP staff.

On April 1, at 7:00 a.m., a heavy military machine, in particular a tank, was seen within the territory of the Exclusion Zone adjacent to administrative buildings (“Ostriv”). The tank moved in the direction of Chornobyl town.

As of now, the radiation situation at the ChNPP site is without changes. The monitored parameters of the equipment are within the boundaries set by the technological regulations.

Operating personnel who took a shift on March 20 continues to ensure nuclear and radiation safety.

13:00 Commissioner for Human Rights of Ukraine Liudmyla Denisova

As of 10 o’clock on April 1, 2022, according to the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, as well as other sources that need confirmation, 153 children died (+5 per day) and 245 children (+12 per day) were injured since the Russian invasion in Ukraine.

It is impossible to establish the actual number of dead and wounded children due to the fact that the occupying forces are actively fighting in Ukrainian cities.

  • In Hostomel, the occupiers shot a car with a woman and a child. She drove only 700 meters from the house. The mother died on the spot from her injuries, and an uncontrolled car crashed into the store.
  • A woman from the Kyiv region saved two children during the shelling of a car in which she and her friends were trying to escape. Three friends of the family died on the spot. The woman managed to get out of the burning car and get the children from there – her ten-month-old daughter and her friend’s three-year-old son.
  • In Marinka, Krasnohorivka, and Novomykhailivka, the enemy used phosphorous shells again. As a result of the shelling, 11 people were injured, including 5 children. Everyone is receiving medical care.
  • As a result of artillery shelling in the Chernihiv region, two children were injured.

To date, 859 educational institutions have been damaged by bombing and shelling. 83 of them were completely destroyed.

The actions of the Russian occupation forces violated the right of children to life, which is enshrined in Article 6 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The killing of children and the shelling of peaceful settlements are crimes against humanity and war crimes under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation of Human Rights Violations during Russia’s Military Invasion of Ukraine and the expert mission set up by the OSCE participating States under the Moscow Mechanism to take into account these war crimes and crimes against humanity and human rights in Ukraine.

The occupiers use Ukrainian children as a human shields when moving columns of equipment. According to residents, Russian soldiers took local children hostage and put them in trucks in the village of Novyi Bykiv, Chernihiv region. Moreover, the occupiers are using children as hostages as a guarantee that the local population will not give the coordinates of the enemy’s movement to Ukrainian defenders. Such incidents are recorded in Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Ukrainian side and international institutions recorded cases of inhumane treatment of children, which will pass information to international criminal courts. The occupiers will be held accountable for every war crime committed.

10:57 Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov according to Ukrainska Pravda

The Russians are running their Internet line to the occupied Melitopol from Crimea.

“Today they are bringing their fiber from Crimea to the city to completely block the Internet. We know that Russia is not the World Wide Web, but a cut-off blocked Internet. And they are now trying to block information. The telephone and mobile networks have been blocked for almost a week, and there is no Internet. This is done to throw residents into an information vacuum,” Fedorov said.

10:53 Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar according to Suspilne

Russia is transporting missile systems to the Gomel region of Belarus.

“Now we see that missile systems are being sent to the Gomel region, the enemy is trying to concentrate them there, obviously this is due to plans to carry out missile strikes or use them there as a tool of blackmail and intimidation. Therefore, Belarus continues to be actively used by Russia,” said Maliar.

According to her, the Russian army has not abandoned any of its goals, even the withdrawal of troops from the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions is “not a voluntary withdrawal, but the result of the work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

“The enemy does not abandon its plans to completely capture Donetsk and Luhansk regions. It is also encroaching on the Kharkiv region and trying to strengthen its position there, regroup troops,” she added.

Russia is spreading a new fake: Russia and Ukraine will reach an agreement, so the “special operation” on the territory of Ukraine will be completed soon. It is made in the background of the partial “withdrawal” of Russian units from the territory of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

  • First, Russia is not “withdrawing” troops, the occupiers are fleeing because they have received fierce resistance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and our population. In addition, the enemy is transferring its forces to the Donbas and preparing a breakthrough on the territory of our country from there.
  • Secondly, no agreements have been reached between Ukraine and Russia. All stories about the alleged end of the “special operation” are just an attempt to avoid further sanctions. The occupiers are trying to organize incomprehensible structures in the temporarily occupied territories and put the ruble into circulation there.
